A Historic hotel in the city of Nimes and a place of great meetings

The Hotel IMPERATOR is the city of Nimes’ historic hotel. The IMPERATOR has been an important meeting place in Nimes for the past 80 years. In 1929 the “Wagons Lit” train company provided a real freedom to travel. In this historical context the Hotel IMPERATOR was born. It became the special link between the people of Nimes and tourists from around the world, as well as the city’s symbol of hospitality.

Ava Gardner and Luis Miguel Dominguin, Antonio Ordonez and Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso and Jean Cocteau, Jacques Chirac and Lionel Jospin, Frédérique Hébrard and Louis Velle – all these famous people have created the spirit of the Imperator.

From the Roaring Twenties to the present day, artists, painters, writers, bullfighters, politicians and academics brought and still bring a spirit of freedom, creativity and conviviality to this legendary hotel.
