The Wine Harvest Feria

The Wine Harvest Feria is the little sister of the Pentecost Feria. It began in 1980 and takes place every third Friday, Saturday and Sunday in September in Nimes. This year, the Wine Harvest Feria takes place from Thursday 18th to Sunday, 21th September 2014.

Nimes and its area offers a number of vineyards with quality wines: cépage wines, vins de pays and AOC. The harvest ends in late September. The grapes are pressed and the wine begins its slow process of fermentation, however one already knows if it’s a good year.

To celebrate the end of this important moment, the town of Nimes decided to organize a local Feria that would be more convivial than the Pentecost Feria. The Wine Harvest Feria adds the convivial element of drinking good wine.
